Keeping your Dog’s Teeth Clean

If you have a dog as part of your family, there are a few things that you need to be aware of when you are making sure your pet is healthy and happy. Although it may not seem like an important task, keeping your dog’s mouth healthy can prolong their life because of lack of infection in their teeth.

Cleaning your dog’s mouth at least once a week can also help to make your dog’s breath cleaner and smell better. Dog breath can sometimes smell bad, so cleaning their teeth and tongue can make a large difference. An old toothbrush from around the house can be a great tool to try and keep your dog’s mouth as healthy as possible.

Some vets will also recommend giving your dog a bone at least once every two weeks. When a dog chews on a bone, it helps to clean off some of the extra plaque and tartar that might be building up on the dog’s teeth. This will also help to keep the dog’s mouth fresh and infection-free. These can be great ways to help your dog stay healthy and happy for many years to come.
